Fritz Reuter Literature Prize
The Fritz Reuter Literature Prize is awarded for recent literature in Low German, for linguistic or literary works or for special achievements in the cultivation of Low German language and literature.
It is endowed with a sum of €3,000 and is financed by the town of Stavenhagen with the support of the Sparkasse Neubrandenburg-Demmin.
A jury decides on the award.
The juries are made up of experts and media representatives. They make their selections from the entries.

- Works in Low German, poetry and/or prose;
- Works on the Low German language;
- Works on Low German authors, their lives, their works and their reception.
The prize is always awarded by the mayor of Stavenhagen on 7th November, Fritz Reuter’s birthday, in Stavenhagen Castle.
