Museums and their collections and archives therefore have an important social function as a historical memory. Other tasks include the conservation of archive material and the restoration of damaged items, the cataloguing of collections, advising users, the presentation of archive and collection material for use by interested parties on the museum&#8217;s premises and the acquisition of additional items.<\/p>\n<h4>The archives of the Fritz Reuter Literature Museum contain five collections:<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-472fc99 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"472fc99\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Fritz Reuter documents<\/h3>\n<p>The manuscript archive forms the centrepiece of the museum&#8217;s collections. It mainly comprises manuscripts and manuscript pieces by Fritz Reuter, smaller handwritten verse pieces and prose works as well as letters by, and to, Reuter, but also manuscripts by relatives, acquaintances and contemporaries.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-02d5403 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"02d5403\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Written material by Low German authors<\/h3>\n<p>Manuscripts and estates of other Low German authors are preserved here, in particular those of Rudolf Tarnow, Wilhelm Zierow and Max Gerhardt.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6a9105b elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6a9105b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Pictures<\/h3>\n<p>Collection of Reuter portraits, autograph paintings and drawings by Reuter as well as illustrations for the works of Fritz Reuter, but also pictorial documents on how Reuter was received and the history of Stavenhagen and its surroundings.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-acbb760 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"acbb760\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Three-dimensional<\/h3>\n<p>The focus is on the collection of artefacts belonging to Fritz Reuter, his family, friends and acquaintances. Other themes include figurative works on how Reuter was received and the history of Stavenhagen.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-16d5356 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"16d5356\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Historical city archive<\/h3>\n<p>Collection of documents on the history of Stavenhagen.
